Doctor Bio

Harvey J. Stern, MD, PhD, FACMG, FAAP, became the Director of Reproductive Genetics and the Fetal Diagnostic Center at GIVF in 1995. Dr. Stern has a lot of expertise evaluating fetuses and newborns for congenital abnormalities and diagnosing genetic disorders. He is the lead physician for GIVF's prenatal genetics program, performing amniocentesis, chorionic villus sample, first trimester screening, and ultrasound. Dr. Stern serves as the Medical Director of Fairfax Cryobank and the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) program at GIVF. He also oversees GIVF's egg donors and Fairfax Cryobank's sperm donors' genetic screening. The Genetics & IVF Institute has a branch called Fairfax Cryobank. Dr. Stern is also the director of the GIVF Endocrinology Laboratory.
