    Doctor Bio

Few challenges in medicine are more satisfying than assisting a couple struggling with infertility to conceive and start a family. Dr. Nicole Banks, a renowned reproductive endocrinologist whose work at VCU Health is advancing an already cutting-edge sector, believes this is the driving force behind her work.
“The first IVF (in vitro fertilization) baby was just born in 1978 and we have already come such a long way since then,” Dr. Banks says, referring to the rapid advancement of technology that has increased success rates and reduced treatment risks. Dr. Banks, a lifelong learner, is well-suited to such a fast-paced field and the emotional effect it has on patients. “I feel very lucky to play a part in building families for couples suffering from infertility. There are few things that can change the course of a person’s life in quite the same way.”
Outside of work, the Dale City resident loves spending time with his family and friends, organizing family get-togethers, entertaining, and cake decorating.
