Doctor Bio

Dr. Young earned his bachelor's degree from the University of California, San Diego, and his medical and doctoral degrees from the University of Miami. He finished his OB/GYN residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and went on to the University of North Carolina for advanced subspecialty fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Before returning to UNC in 2004, he served on the faculties of the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and the University of Missouri.
Dr. Steven Young was born in Georgia and raised in South Carolina, Florida, and California, though it was in Florida that he discovered his passion for the sea. He loves swimming, hiking, and spending time with his two daughters, but he is also an avid reader who can be found reading about science history or Murakami novels in his spare time.
