Doctor Bio

Robert B. Filer, M.D. earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Albright College. He then went to Philadelphia's Hahnemann Medical College, where he earned his M.D. in 1981. He returned to Philadelphia after completing an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey to pursue a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at Thomas Jefferson University.
In 1987, Dr. Filer founded The Fertility Center in York, Pennsylvania, and in 1997, he expanded to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology has accredited him, and the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy has certified him in advanced operative laparoscopy and advanced operative hysteroscopy. He is a member of the York Hospital and Lancaster General Hospital staff. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at Penn State Hershey Medical Center's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He continues to be deeply interested in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Residency training.
Dr. Filer belongs to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, among other organizations. He has given both national and local talks.
Dr. Filer is committed to delivering compassionate care to his patients as well as improving treatment options.
